Communication Skills is the soft skill that allows you to understand and be misunderstood by others.These can include but are not limited to effectively communicating ideas to others, actively listening in conversations, giving and receiving critical feedback and public speaking.


Successful communication skills help us in better understanding of people and situations. It helps us overcome diversities, build trust and respect, and create conditions for sharing creative ideas and solving problems.  




What are communication Skills?


Communication skills are the abilities you use when giving and receiving different kinds of information.Some examples include communicating new ideas, feelings or even updating on your projects. Communication skills involve listening, speaking, observing and empathising.


It is also helpful to understand the differences in how to communicate through face-to-face interactions, phone conversations and digital communications like email and social media.


The ability to communicate effectively with superiors, colleagues, and staff is essential no matter what industry you work in.

In this modern time we are receiving, sending and processing a large number of information on a daily basis.   1. Be a Good Listener


Listening is the important thing in communication skills. Rather than speaking fluently, sometimes you also have to listen to others carefully. If the speaker feels that you are listening to him carefully, it helps in building deeper relationships among you. Careful listening helps in sharing ideas or information on a wide basis. So you have to develop the habits of listening carefully.             


  1. Control Your Emotions


Your feelings play an important role while you are communicating with others. Emotions like shy, anger, sorrow, fear affects your communication skills. If you are speaking, your emotions like fear, shy, etc. lack you behind in sharing the proper ideas as it makes you lose your confidence. If you are a listener, then you shouldn’t let your feelings hurt immediately and be angry with the speaker.


  1. Prepare Yourself Before Speaking


We are very aware of the line that Think Before You Speak. You have to prepare in the backend before speaking to your audience. If you are well prepared before your presentation then your confidence level will also be increased and you can deliver information fluently to the listener. So practising before speaking helps in better communication skills.


  1. Control your stress 


The more you are stressed, you will look dull and your performance speed will also be decreased. It is a true fact that if one person sees another yawning then he also yawns automatically. If you are looking tired and giving a speech to the public, they will not be attentive in your speaking. Controlling stress helps your appearance be perfect and the audience will be affected towards you. 


  1. Good Body Language 


Body language is the main part that everyone is supposed to improve in their soft skills. Communication with proper body language is considered as the most effective communication. You have to react the same way to what you are sharing. Moving your hands, creating eye contact with the audience, enables you to share ideas freely and wisely. So to deliver proper information and create your audience attentive towards you, you have to develop body language while speaking.
